Last week, I became a “vibe coder” and made a working media industry matchmaking app within the space of just three evenings. I have to say it was pretty challenging, and there were moments I wondered why anyone would want to become a software engineer. But the experience unpacked a lot, and it was truly worth the effort!
What stood out to me was how accessible it felt from day one. As a beginner, I came in with ideas but no clear path forward, and left with a working prototype and a process I can actually repeat. It wasn’t about building the perfect product; it was about building something meaningful to you. The material was excellent, and the energy in that space was contagious.
